Overview of the 2024 Toyota Hilux
The Toyota Hilux range maintains stalwart options like the SR and SR5, offering great value and several enhancements. The SR extra-cab and dual-cab boast 17-inch black alloy wheels and body-colored door handles in slightly upgraded models over the workmate.
The SR5 dual-cab introduces new safety systems, including blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, with the added feature of a surround-view camera. Automatic SR5 models and above include an ‘ID Box’ anti-theft immobiliser to enhance security.
A new addition to the range is the GR Sport, positioned at the top with a slightly more powerful engine (more below). It shares characteristics with the HiLux Rogue featuring ia wider track, but also increased height, bespoke front coil and rear leaf springs, KYB monotube shock absorbers, and the removal of the rear sway bar for improved axle articulation.
Unique features of the GR Sport include black 17-inch alloy wheels, red-painted disc brakes, a redesigned front bumper, black mesh grille, larger wheel arch flares, and heavy-duty rock rails.
Key Engines
The 2023 Toyota HiLux lineup offers diverse engine options, with the most powerful being a 2.8-litre turbo diesel generating 150kW of power and 500Nm of torque with an automatic transmission, and 420Nm with the manual. The GR Sport model enhances performance at 165kW/550Nm, exclusively paired with an automatic transmission.
